Kiki's Hatching
It was raining; a storm had just begun outside and was reported to get worse. In the house was full of light and silence, except in one part of the house. There was no light except from coming outside the window, and the only time there was a burst of light it vanished a second later due to the storm. The only sound that was made in the room was sobbing, but from where? It was faint so no one could hear; the sobs came from a corner of the room. There sat little Mizuki, curled up into a ball.
Wondering why things can't go back to normal, when it was sunny outside. When laughter filled the air and music was cheerfully playing in the background. Music…. She wanted to hear it again… that melody that made her little heart race, and yet at the same time relaxed and soothed. Mizuki wanted to go back… go back to, France.
*Flashback*
"Mama! Mama! Oni-san keeps picking on me" Mizuki states while she is out of breath from running.
"Oh my, well we are going to have to fix that" she says with a smile on her face patting her daughter on the head. "Now stay close by so Papa and I can see you guys still". Mizuki nods happily, in which you hear in the background running footsteps, 2 pairs of them.
"I knew you ran to mom! Taddle-tailor!" The boy with red hair stated.
"What did you expect? She is smarter than she looks you know, that and I told you to stop it." The other brother said with a disappointed look on his face.
"Why don't you guys sit, we are going to speak with someone. So please stay silent for a bit" The boys take a chair and sit there in silence while their guest arrived. Mizuki on the other hand decided to stand, looking at the stranger she found him intriguing and mysterious looking. Blue-ish eyes and hair that sort of blocked an eye, but within a moment she lost interest.
She decided to sneakily walk off; she wanted to do other things than just stay with her parents. After getting out of eye sight of everyone, she felt like she should run to the plaza. Mizuki didn't think she would get lost, if she was just at the plaza. At last she was there, where all she could see was people happily passing by. While looking around she saw different bazaars, people making jewellery and painting. In one part of the plaza there was a crowd of people, Mizuki decided to go take a look; as she got closer all she heard was music. She was able to listen but not see who it was, but there she stood in the back of the crowd… listening to a violin play.
Of course within a couple of minutes she lost interest. About and hour has passed and she decided to go home, yet when she tried to remember which way she came from… she forgot. In a small panic she just chose random ally ways to try to get home, within hours she realized she was lost. Running in which ever direction she could, before she knew it, it was dark. Mizuki still running, yet this time scared, her dress a little dirty, hair messed up and with tears building up in her eyes. She eventually ended up in a garden, feeling helpless she fell to her knees and began to cry.
She then heard a melody playing, she eventually stood up, tears still in her eyes she followed the sound. It was familiar; she couldn't fully remember where she heard it until she appeared before a boy. Who only looked a couple years older than her, probably the same age as one of her brothers. This boy looked like he was sparkling in the moonlight, most of her tears dried up at this point. At that moment she started to hum, she remembered where she heard it before, at the plaza.
The music stopped, as did Mizuki's humming. She saw that he was looking at her, she blushed a little. A moment later she heard him try to hold in a laugh, she looked down at herself and realized that she looked silly.
"Looks like you've been in a rough patch" he stated
"I-I… was trying to..." she started
"It's late for people your age to be outside, go home" Mizuki then felt flustered and a little angry.
"It isn't my fault!" The boy gave her a curious look, "It was a little bit of my fault, I've been trying to go home! But I got… g-got… lost" she started to sniffle. In that moment the boy sighed and walked over to her, Mizuki's eyes were closed. She just wanted to go back to her mama, she was scared. She than felt a pat on her head, opening her eyes and look up at the boy.
"You could have just said so in the first place" He had a smile on his face. At that moment she noticed his eyes were a mixture of blue and purple, looking familiar. She also saw some cat figure on his shoulder, but her focus was cut off by the boy. "Here, take this. I was suppose to give this to someone but I don't think she'll like it" He went to put it on her, It was a necklace, it looked like a sapphire blue gem.
"Thank you"
"Come on, I'll bring you back" Mizuki smiled and nodded, as they walked back to the plaza they were being watched from afar, the man watching smiled and said to himself.
"Another piece of his future has just bumped into him… like a lost kitten".
As they were walking Mizuki was still scared. So she decided to hold onto his sleeve, so she wouldn't lose him and get lost again, with a sigh he grabbed her hand.
"You don't want to get lost again, right? Just hold onto my hand… how did you get lost anyways?" Mizuki started talking about her day and how it went; they shared laughs and stories, until they got close enough to the place Mizuki was staying, her name being shouted into the night. They only saw one figure; it was her mother's, calling for Mizuki until she finally saw her with the boy.
"So you're Mizuki" the boy said. She nodded and ran to her mother; they embraced in a big hug.
"Mizuki-chan! Don't ever do that again, ok? We were so worried"
"I promise Mama… this boy took care of me and helped me get back" Her mother smiled at the boy and thanked him so graciously. Until Mizuki's father cam around the corner very stern like. Mizuki forgot to ask him his name, she was being dragged away. "Wait! I don't know your name!"
He said it, but Mizuki never got to hear what it was. Due to her father's yelling. Ever since that night, nothing was ever the same.
*present*
Still in sorrow, she just wanted to go back. She wanted to be able to be free, to do what she wanted. Instead of being tied down to being the daughter the family wants.
*twitch*
She wanted to hear that music once more…
*twitch, twitch*
At least she could remember the sweet sound of happiness, to have fun she had… to bad she couldn't remember his face or name. All she had was the necklace.
Within seconds the egg with the moon on it rushed over to her from the other side of the room. A faint voice came from it…
"Mizuki…" She looked up at it, and when she did it hatched. A little person with cat ears and tail floated in front of her.
"Mizuki-chan! I'm your Shugo chara, Kiki. I am your would be self, I'm also born from a wish you made. You know 'I wish I was back to the happy times where it was happy and free, to be with him again'." Mizuki smiled "Don't worry, Kiki will always be around. You'll never be alone again" Kiki then sat on her lap and purred softly.
I may be a little chara, but I'm just as smart as anyone else.
